Kuopio Museum Guided Tour in English

Guided Tours in English on Tuesdays at 2 pm 9.7. and 23.7.
The open tours are included in the price of the ticket (13 € / 7 €, free entry under 18 years). The duration of the guided tour is approximately 45 minutes.

Kuopio Museum

In Kuopio Museum natural sciences and cultural history come together in a unique way. There are fascinating and current temporary exhibitions, and permanent exhibitions presenting Eastern Finnish nature and the past of Northern Savo. People of all ages can easily explore the exhibitions with functionalities using modern technology. There is also an inspirational playroom for children.

PERMANENT EXHIBITIONS

In addition to temporary exhibitions, there are three permanent exhibitions in the Kuopio Museum.

• AGE OF HUMAN presents the history of Northern Savo from the Stone Age to today. The cultural and historical exhibition shows the life of local people in different times.
• CHANGING NATURE presents the history of Northern Savonian nature and looks at its present state. The journey begins far in the past in the mammoth steppe, meanders deep in the natural forests and dives to the depths of lakes.
• ON THE BORDER OF REALITY AND FICTION weaves together cultural history and natural sciences by exploring the connection between the annual cycle of nature and the myths and beliefs of folklore.
