Kekri – vanhaa suomalaista mystiikkaa ja kauhun kaikuja…

Ennen vanhaan kekri oli vuoden kohokohta – satokausi päättyi, vuodenkierto vaihtui ja  palvelusväki sai hengähdyshetkensä. Elettiin vuoden synkintä aikaa, jolloin uskottiin vainajien henkien palaavan keskuuteemme. Yliluonnollisia olentoja lepyteltiin herkuilla, uhrilahjoilla ja saunan löylyillä. Tulevaa yritettiin kurkistaa taikojen avulla ja taata hyvä satokausi myös seuraavalle vuodelle… Kekri on taikojen ja yliluonnollisen läsnäolon aikaa.

Kekri ja Halloween kumpuavat samasta eurooppalaisesta perinteestä – mutta kekri on aivan omaa, suomalaista kulttuuriperintöämme.

Uskallatko astua synkempiin menneisyyden varjoihin?
Tervetuloa Kuopion museon perjantai-illan tapahtumaan, jossa kekrin henki herää eloon! Luvassa on karmivaa ohjelmaa nuorilta nuorille – tarinoita, hahmoja ja tunnelmaa, joka saa niskavillat nousemaan kutkuttavalla tavalla pystyyn.

Kuopion museon tapahtuma on pääsääntöisesti maksuton kaikille (katso mahdolliset poikkeussisällöt ohjelmasta, ohjelma päivittyy). Lisäksi tapahtuman aikana klo 16.30-20.00 ovat Kuopion museon näyttelyjen pääsyliput maksuttomat kaikille alle 29-vuotiaille. Yli 29-vuotiaille lippujen hinnat ovat normaalin hinnaston mukaiset (15 €/ 10 € tai Museokortti tai Kaikukortti).

Zombiewalk-kulkue starttaa Kulttuuriareena 44:lta (Kauppakatu 44) klo 16.15 ja päätyy Kuopion museolle. Tule mukaan! Järj. Kuopion Nuorisovaltuusto.

KUOPION MUSEOLLA TAPAHTUVAA (vapaa pääsy kaikille, ellei toisin ilmoiteta), ohjelma täydentyy:

Elävän tulen taikaa illan päätteeksi n. klo 19.45: Tuluxxia Duon tuliesitys vie katsojan mystiselle matkalle, jossa sarvipäiset hahmot liekehtivät, rytmi leimahtaa rummuissa ja tuli taipuu lumoavaksi taiteeksi. (Esitys toteutetaan ulkona Museokadulla, eikä sadekaan haittaa.)

Elävää musiikkia: Kuopiosta jyristen saapuu Northern Doom, raskaan ja nopean death- ja thrash metallin sekoituksen saattamana. Bändi on nuori ja niin ovat sen jäsenet, mutta heitä ei kannata aliarvioida. Tule ja koe Kuopiolaisen hevin uusi aalto!

Dramatisoitu seikkailupolku

Huu, jännittävää – mitä tästä syntyykään? Tekijöinä ovat yhteistyössä Kuopion seudun Nuorisoseurojen TeatteriTorstain ja Kuopion kaupungin teatterin Nuorten teatteri. Seikkailupolku tulee kulkemaan museon näyttelykerroksissa.

K-pop RPD sekä opetustuokio

Illassa mukana nuorten omasta toiveesta: K-pop RPD (random play dance) noin klo 16.30-18.30. Opetustuokio, esityksiä ja vapaasti osallistuttavaa RPD-osuutta.

Kasvomaalauspiste. Jos omasta kaapista ei löytynyt mitään kekrin tai halloweenin mukaista päälle laitettavaa, voi tunnelmaan virittäytyä myös museolla kasvomaalauspisteellä.

Opastukset ja tietoiskut: Tutustu satokauden päätöksen kunniaksi paikalliseen ruokakulttuuriin. Järj. Itä-Suomen maa- ja kotitalousnaiset.

 

Näyttelyt:
Kuopion museon perusnäyttelyihin on tapahtuma-aikana klo 16.30–20 vapaa pääsy alle 29-vuotiailla. Yli 29-vuotialle liput normaalin hinnaston mukaan (15 / 10 €). Myös Museokortti ja Kaikukortti käyvät. Vaihtuvana näyttelynä Myyttiset – metsän kätköissä. Perusnäyttelyt: Ihmisen aika, Muuttuva luonto sekä Toden ja Tarun rajalla.

Eli ei kun vaan naamiaisasua niskaan ja mukaan kekrimäiseen menoon – koe Kekrin ajan mystiikkaa Kuopion museolla! Tapahtuma on kohdennettu ensi sijassa nuorille ja nuorille aikuisille, eikä sen sisältö välttämättä sovellu lapsille.

Tapahtumayhteistyössä ovat Kuopion museon kanssa mm. Kuopion nuorisopalvelut, Kuopion seudun Nuorisoseurojen TeatteriTorstai, Kuopion kaupungin teatterin Nuorten teatteri, Kuopio Rock Academy, Itä-Suomen maa- ja kotitalousnaiset.

Kekri – Ancient Finnish Mysticism and Echoes of Horror…

In the old days, Kekri marked the highlight of the year – the harvest season ended, the annual cycle turned, and servants got a well-earned break. It was the darkest time of the year, when people believed the spirits of the dead returned among the living. Supernatural beings were appeased with treats, offerings, and sauna steam. Magic was used to glimpse the future and ensure a good harvest for the coming year… Kekri is a time of spells and supernatural presence.

Kekri and Halloween share roots in European tradition – but Kekri is a unique part of Finnish cultural heritage.

Do you dare step into the darker shadows of the past?
Welcome to Kuopio Museum’s Friday evening event, where the spirit of Kekri comes alive! Expect spine-tingling program created by youth for youth – stories, characters, and an atmosphere that will send delightful chills down your spine.

The event at Kuopio Museum is mostly free of charge for everyone (see program for any exceptions – updates coming). Additionally, from 16:30 to 20:00, entrance to Kuopio Museum exhibitions is free for everyone under 29. For those over 29, regular ticket prices apply (€15 / €10 or Museum Card or Kaikukortti).

***During the Kekri evening***

The ZOMBIEWALK parade starts from Kulttuuriareena 44 (address: Kauppakatu 44) at 16:15 and ends at the Kuopio Museum. Come and join us! Organized by the Kuopio Youth Council.

At Kuopio Museum:

• Fire show to end the evening around 19:45: Tuluxxia Duo’s fire performance takes the audience on a mystical journey with horned figures, flaming rhythms, and fire turned into enchanting art. (Outdoor performance on Museokatu – rain won’t stop it!)
• Live music: Northern Doom storms in from Kuopio with a mix of heavy and fast death/thrash metal. The band is young, as are its members – but don’t underestimate them. Come and experience the new wave of Kuopio metal!
• Dramatized adventure trail
  Spooky and exciting – what will emerge? Created in collaboration between two youth theatre goups. The trail goes through the museum’s exhibition floors. (In Finnish)
• Root lantern workshop – running throughout the event
• Wheel of Fate
  Dare to spin and predict your destiny for the coming year.
• Face painting
  If you didn’t find anything Kekri (or Halloween) themed to wear, you can still get into the spirit at the museum’s face painting station.
